About Us

Our Story

From the highlands of Colombia to your cup.

Café Isabel was born from a deep love of Colombian coffee and a belief that every cup should tell a story. Founded by Isabel Macgloan, our brand is rooted in the lush, mist-covered mountains of Salento, Quindío — one of Colombia's most celebrated coffee-growing regions.Café Isabel About Us Banner

Where It All Begins: Finca El Ocaso

At 1,850 meters above sea level, Finca El Ocaso sits in the heart of Colombia's coffee belt. The altitude, rich volcanic soil, and ideal microclimate create the perfect conditions for growing exceptional specialty coffee. This is where our beans are cultivated — slowly, carefully, and with generations of expertise.

We work directly with the farmers at Finca El Ocaso, building relationships grounded in transparency, fair compensation, and a shared commitment to quality. When you buy Café Isabel, you're supporting the people and the land behind every bean.

Single-Origin. Always.

We believe in letting the origin speak for itself. That's why every coffee we offer is single-origin — traceable to one farm, one region, one story. Our current lineup features four exceptional Colombian varieties:

  • Tabi — A hybrid variety prized for its balanced sweetness and complexity.
  • Castillo — Resilient and vibrant, with bright fruit-forward notes.
  • Pink Bourbon — Rare and delicate, with floral aromatics and a silky finish.
  • Gesha — The crown jewel of specialty coffee, celebrated for its extraordinary clarity and jasmine-like fragrance.

Crafted with Intention: Our Processing Methods

Processing is where science meets craft. We use two methods, each chosen to highlight the unique character of each variety:

  • Honey Process — The fruit pulp is partially left on the bean during drying, imparting natural sweetness and a rich, syrupy body.
  • Washed Process — The pulp is fully removed before drying, producing a clean, bright cup that lets the bean's terroir shine through. Café Isabel Lifestyle Flat Lay BannerA Note from Isabel

“I started Café Isabel because I wanted people in the US to experience Colombian coffee the way I first did — not as a commodity, but as something alive. Something with a place, a process, and a person behind it. Every bag we ship is a small piece of Salento, and I'm so grateful to share it with you.”Isabel at coffee shop
